Banking giant JPMorgan Chase, one of the largest banks in the United States, recently admitted that over the last several years, it improperly overcharged approximately 4,000 military families, including the families of troops fighting over seas, on their mortgages, and erroneously foreclosed on the homes of approximately 14 military families.
Pursuant to the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), active-duty troops typically have their home mortgage interest rates lowered to 6 percent and the troops and their families are to be protected from foreclosure on their homes. The law is designed to protect active-duty troops and their families from financial stress while the troops are in harm's way.
Several weeks ago, JPMorgan Chase acknowledged that it has made multiple mistakes over the last several years and that it wants to try to correct it's mistakes.
If you or a loved one have been overcharged by JPMorgan Chase, had your home foreclosed upon and/or lost your home as a direct result of the improper actions of JPMorgan Chase, you may be entitled to financial compensation for your economic injuries.
